Located just east of downtown, our intimate chapel is perfect for civil ceremonies, elopements, and last-minute weddings—whether it’s your first choice or your plan B when weather or circumstances change. With distinctive white pillars, lion statues, and a front-yard fountain, plus free parking nearby, it’s a hidden gem for romantic, heartfelt vows in the heart of the city.
About This Ceremony
Our Private Porch Chapel is a cozy, intimate space for couples who want a simple, heartfelt ceremony in the city. Just east of downtown Indianapolis, the porch features white pillars, lion statues, and a front-yard fountain—easy landmarks so you know you’re in the right place. Guests are welcome—bring up to 4, including little ones and fur babies—or enjoy the moment as a couple. In Indiana, witnesses are not required.
It’s ideal for short-notice elopements and a reliable rain/weather/plan-B when outdoor or specialty venues become unavailable.
Location & Parking
The chapel sits in a historic neighborhood with ongoing city improvements. While the street out front is under construction and there is no direct street parking, you have convenient options:
- Recommended: Free parking on North Oxford Street (just across Michigan Street from the chapel).
- Optional: An open lot immediately west of the chapel. Please note: This lot is not owned or maintained by Indy Get Married; parking there is at your discretion.
Before your ceremony, you’ll receive a parking map with walking directions so arrival is quick and stress-free.

- Marriage license (required — Marion County for out-of-state clients)

Note: There are no restrooms or dressing areas onsite. Please arrive ready.
Guest & Timing Policies
- Maximum capacity is 4 guests, children included. Due to space limitations, this is strictly enforced.
- 30-minute time slots are reserved for each ceremony.
- Late policy: If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, a new booking and retainer will be required.
What to Expect on the Day
We’ll meet at the chapel, handle paperwork, and begin the ceremony. You can choose a short-and-sweet script or bring your own vows. I’ll complete and mail your license within 30 days, or you may file it yourself for a certified copy. Photos with your own device are welcome!
